She is so used to hiding herself to avoid envy’s eye, she forgets people that loves her as she comes does exist. Her friend could see her fear in uncertainty and brought her to her own land and set up a ceremony of love. Together they walked on the concrete floors bare feet, lightly sprinkled in dirt. And together they dipped their toes in the sun warmed water in the dining room, underneath an unlit fireplace. The hot Texas summer sun surrounded them, warming them in their discomfort.

There will never be a time where her home would be this bear and yet she could feel the life and love that would grow in it. They offered blessing to the house to come and set intention for the life that will be lived there. They gave honor to the home that was built before and the home that was lost. “Something’s are meant to end” wisdom was her friend’s power. She stopped in awe and look at her in disbelief, that some among us are white lights, channeling the power of pure white magic.

They drank hot coffee and they laughed. They gave honor to their pain and saw in themselves a part of each other they felt missing. They watched the birds bathe in the same pool they just dipped their toes in and delighted in the serendipity of their friendship.

After a few decades of being told people were allowed to be cruel and unkind to her in the name of envy left her fearful of her own light, she was taught to eat their pain. And though she is still in the shadows and comfortable in her tiny cave, she could see that out of her tiny cave, she may encounter more darkness but she will also experience more light. And she asked herself, what would my life looked like if I wasn’t afraid of the dark?
