Discipline

Performance requires constraint

Doing hard things push on the edge of my emotional capacity. Managing my internal state through daily habits allows me the fortitude to work through the challenges of doing things I have yet to do. No extraordinary result is predestined or deserved.

All forms of pleasure come at a cost, I can pay it up front or I can pay it on debt. Work is not exempt.

Frontier work without an on purpose routine leads to my Mind stealing energy worrying about the inconsequential. Work I find fun requires a relatioship with emotional distress because it pushes on my wounds, offers me no guarantees, and has unpredictable consequences. If it didn’t it wouldn’t be live player work that fulfills me.

Without a daily routine my Mind falls weak to the uncertainty and triggers anxiety, fear, regret, and loneliness. The debt for the pleasure I accepted on credit. Pay upfront with constraint.

There is no short cut through challenge. Learning on the job is my advantage.

My growing experience is my moat.
